403 Westbound re-opened after a collision between transport truck and a pedestrian

A man is fighting for his life after being hit by a tractor trailer on Highway 403, between Wayne Gretzky Parkway and King George Road, shortly after 8 am Tuesday morning.

Brant County paramedics transported the male pedestrian to a local hospital, where he was then airlifted to an out of town hospital with life threatening injuries.

OPP say so far the investigation has revealed that the tractor trailer was traveling west bound on the 403 when it hit the man, who was walking on the highway. That section of highway was closed for several hours. It has since re-openned around 2 pm.

Police are asking for anyone with dash cam video and witnesses to contact them.
