Accidental Drowning in the Grand River Claims the Life of Teen

Brantford Police are confirming a 16-year-old Brantford boy drowned in the Grand River over the weekend.

A large-scale search for the teen began Sunday after he was reported missing. His friends saw him enter the Grand River in the Oakhill Park area.

The Brantford Fire Department, along with the Brantford Police K9 Unit and Emergency Response Team, searched the river with the aid of a drone. The boy was found deceased.

Police say it is believed the teen’s death was due to accidental drowning.
