Active COVID-19 cases in Brant remains at seven

BRANTFORD – The Brant County Health Unit is reporting one new case of COVID-19 Wednesday, bringing the total number of residents who tested positive to 110, including four deaths and 99 recoveries.

This number does not include the over 120 migrant workers affected by a farm outbreak in Vittoria. They are serving their mandatory 14 day isolation period at the Best Western Brant Park Inn in Brantford. Brant County Health Unit officials say those cases are reflected under the Haldimand Norfolk numbers as they are considered residents of that area.

After the spike in cases in Haldimand-Norfolk due to the 164 migrant workers at Scottlyn Group testing positive, the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit is reporting no new cases of the novel coronavirus Wednesday. There are 382 confirmed cases, including 136 recoveries and 31 deaths.

Ontario is reporting a slight decline after detecting 338 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, and 19 further deaths. The province’s total active cases are now 3,924. There have been 2,312 deaths. Since the outbreak, Ontario has reported a total of 29,047 cases.
