BRANT COUNTY – Apple picking in the orchard at Brantview Farms in St. George is underway, as it has been for nearly 200 years.
This year marks the farm’s 199th harvest. Today it offers up to 20 varieties of apples each season, along with cider, baked goods, and other apple-related products.
Brantview Farms is a family-run operation and was selected as the BMO Ontario Farm Family Award winner last year. The Howell family can trace its farming roots to Isaac Howell, who was initially given the tract of land on Howell Road for his loyalty during the war of 1812.
The farm now offers pick-your-own, as well as pre-packaged varieties available in store.
Brantview Farms is also an original participant in the St. George Applefest event which usually takes place on the third weekend of September each year. This year the festival will be offered virtually due to the pandemic.
BRANT.one is proud to be hosting Virtual Applefest 2020 starting at 9:30 AM on Saturday, September 19th.
