Brant County OPP Lay Charges of Animal Cruelty

Brant County OPP has charged three Brantford residents after receiving complaints of a video posted showing animal cruelty in Burford on Saturday, June 15th.

OPP say the video shows the suspects driving out of Brantford into the Burford area with a trapped possum and eventually shows the animal being killed.

30-year-old, Romaine Lee has been charged with cruelty to animals, possession of a firearm while prohibited, causing unnecessary wildlife suffering, and transporting wildlife unlawfully.

Jade Martins, 25, and Kaius Fagan, 20, have been charged with cruelty to animals, causing unnecessary wildlife suffering and transporting wildlife unlawfully.

All suspects will appear in Brantford Court at a later date to answer to the charges.
