The Paris Agricultural Society will be hosting a Virtual Canada Day Celebration this year and inviting Paris residents to participate.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the PAS announced the highly anticipated return of a parade, entertainment, and fireworks had to be cancelled for 2020. However, the organizing committee remained committed to providing an outlet for the community to come together.
“While we may not be able to gather together in person, we look forward to celebrating together virtually. This virtual event will celebrate our country and remind us how lucky we are to live in the beautiful community of Paris.”Paula Tysoski, Chair, Paris Canada Day Committee
Residents are encouraged to participate in contests for Canada Day décor and pet show, backyard parades, and to submit favourite Canada Day memories or greetings to be part of the community video.
More information and details on how residents of the area can participate in the event are available at www.ParisCanadaDay.com and on the Paris Fair Facebook page.
The society is partnering with local sponsors and BRANT.one to make the event possible. PAS has also received support through Heritage Canada.
The event will be live-streamed at noon on July 1st, at BRANT.one. The link for the event will also be posted at ParisCanadaDay.com.
