Car Impounded after Drunk Driving In Hagersville

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a 25-year-old male with multiple offences including drinking and driving following a traffic stop at a King Street West, Hagersville, address.

On Tuesday June 25, 2019 at 9:57 a.m., OPP were conducting patrols on King Street West when a vehicle travelling east bound caught the attention of an officer.

Police conducted a traffic stop where they investigated.

OPP administered a road side screening test on the male driver which he subsequently failed and was placed under arrest.

Further investigation determined additional charges.

OPP has charged 25-year-old Justin EGAN of Hagersville, with:

– Driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

– Driving a motor vehicle with cannabis readily available

– Drive motor vehicle – no licence

– Speeding

His vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for seven days.

His driver’s licence was automatically suspended for 90 days.

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.
