The City of Brantford is no longer allowing non-members of municipal golf courses, including the Arrowdale Municipal Golf Course and Northridge Municipal Golf Course, to book tee times online. The new policy has been created in response to ‘intentional interference with the city’s golf operations booking process’, according to the city.
City officials say there has been an act of fraud committed by a member of the public. The matter has been handed over to Brantford Police for investigation. The city is also considering legal action against the person, as well as any associates, believed to be responsible.
The city says tee times at a municipal course for anyone without a membership must be booked by phone until the matter is resolved.
City Councillor, Dan McCreary says the identity of this culprit is known to staff and has been provided to police.
The city emphasizes all personal data collected through the golf operations booking system does remain secure.
