COVID-19 cases rise from zero to thirteen in the past week

BRANTFORD – In just over one week, the area has gone from zero COVID-19 cases to thirteen active cases and one hospitalization. The Brant County Health Unit recorded another two cases of COVID-19 Wednesday.


Since the pandemic began, the health unit has recorded a total of 136 positive cases, with 119 cases resolved and four virus-related deaths. Just over 15,000 residents have been tested to date.

The Haldimand Norfolk Health Unit reported one new case of COVID-19 Wednesday, bringing the total number of positive cases in that community to 445, including 396 recoveries and 32 deaths.

Ontario reported 102 new COVID-19 infections on Wednesday, with nine further deaths, the lowest daily case growth since March 25th. The total number of lab-confirmed cases of the virus in Ontario is now 37,052, including 32,920 recoveries and 2,732 deaths.
