BRANT COUNTY – The Brant County Health Unit has declared an outbreak at Cobblestone Elementary School in Paris. As outlined in the Ministry of Education’s Operational Guidance, an outbreak is defined as two or more lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in students and/or staff in a school with an epidemiological link, within a 14-day period, where at least one case could have reasonably acquired their infection in the school.
The Brant County Health Unit has also declared an outbreak at Charlotte Villa Retirement Home after one staff member tested positive for the virus.
Three new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the Brantford and Brant area Friday, bringing the total number of positive infections recorded to date to 185, including 164 recoveries and five deaths. There are currently 16 active cases in Brantford and Brant County. The number of active COVID-19 cases in Haldimand-Norfolk remains at four.
