COVID-19 Update – September 28, 2020

BRANT – There are 16 active cases of COVID-19 in Brantford and Brant County. The Brant County Health Unit reported one new infection on Monday, bringing the total of confirmed cases in our area to 187, including 166 recoveries and 5 deaths.


The Brant Community Healthcare System has now moved COVID-19 testing operations from Brantford General Hospital to the Brantford Civic Centre with increased hours. Up until Monday, testing was being done at the BGH D Wing. The change was made due to enormous pressure caused by extremely high appointment bookings and long lines over the past week.


Ontario reported 700 new COVID-19 cases on Monday. Premier Doug Ford says Ontario is now officially in the second wave of COVID-19 and has announced details of the fall plan for dealing with the wave. The plan includes the addition of 3700 additional health care workers, and more than $52 million train health care professionals.
