Downward Trend in COVID-19 Cases

BRANTFORD – The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Brantford and Brant County continues on a downward trend. As of Friday, there were nine active cases, down from twelve on Thursday and thirteen on Wednesday.

After reporting thirteen new cases in a week, for the second day in a row, the Brant County Health Unit reported no new cases of the virus Friday, leaving the total number of positive test results at 136. To date, there have been 123 recoveries and four deaths. Of the nine currently infected, one is in hospital.

The Haldimand Norfolk Health Unit reported one new case of COVID-19 Friday, bringing the total number of positive cases to 446, including 396 recoveries and 32 deaths.

Ontario is again reporting just over 100 new cases of COVID-19. The number of tests surpassed 31,000 over the past 24 hours. Ontario Health Minister, Christine Elliott, says 111 new cases were confirmed Friday, which is unchanged from the number of new cases reported Thursday. The Province also reported nine further deaths Friday.
