Brantford Police have charged a 40 year old Brantford man after responding to a report of a gun shot at a residential complex on Elgin Street.
After responding to a 9-1-1 call at approximately 8:30PM Monday night, officers discovered a hole in the front door of one unit at the complex. Police say, the hole appeared to have been caused by a firearm discharged from within the home.
Due to the concern for public safety, the residence was cleared. No one was located inside, however ammunition was observed. Police located the occupant at another residence where he was arrested without incident.
The suspect has been charged with possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order and careless storage of ammunition. At the time of arrest, police say the man was bound by a court order with conditions which were being contravened.
No injuries or victims have been reported as a result of the incident.
