BRANTFORD – The Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre is once again offering fitness classes, and access to the weight room after being shuttered for months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Gyms and fitness centres were allowed to reopen on July 17th. However, the city-run facility required additional time to prepare given new safety protocols and regulations.
Fitness Supervisor Katie MacDonald, says swimming started last month but pools are only open for private swim lessons, lane swimming, and aquafit classes.
MacDonald adds visitors are being discouraged from using the changing rooms, including swimmers and skaters. Reservations are also required for ice time.
The Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre reopened the fitness centre on Tuesday, August 4th. Fitness classes and gym space can be pre-booked online or by calling the centre.
