The Brant County Health Unit’s Medical Officer of Health is making a move to make face masks mandatory within the community.
Dr. Elizabeth Urbantke says she will make the recommendation to the Emergency Operations Centre Advisory Committee at their meeting Wednesday morning.
The EOC Advisory Committee is composed of organizations within The City of Brantford, The County of Brant and Six Nations of the Grand River to work together to reduce the risk of community spread of COVID-19 in the region.
Dr. Urbantke notes she has already been recommending face coverings for over a month as an additional tool to help protect our community from the spread of COVID-19.
If the recommendation is accepted, the mayors of Brantford and Brant County are expected to work together on a joint bylaw, so rules will be the same across the region.
