Indoor Dining with New Rules in the New Normal

BRANTFORD – It’s been four months since patrons sat inside a local restaurant enjoying a meal or just a beverage on a bar stool, however, the province gave the restaurant and bars the green light to reopen this weekend.

Brantford restaurant owner, Anthony Alfano of Speekezzies, says he is very excited to get back to the serving indoors but won’t be opening his original Italian restaurant immediately.

In addition to completing renovation work at his business started during the pandemic, Alfano also says he will need the time to navigate the reopening rules and regulations.

As he measures and moves his tables two meters apart, Alfonso adds, he has concerns about the capacity rules but admits some business is better than no business.

Alfano says he opted out of creating a temporary patio so looking to reopen indoors on August 1st.
