Holiday cheer will be filling the streets of Paris this Friday, November 22nd. Canada’s Prettiest Town is hosting the 11th annual Jingle Bell Night throughout the downtown core.
The popular tax free shopping event starts at 4pm and continues through the evening to 10pm.
Aside from shopping, the event features a number of family friendly activities. There will be horse drawn carriage rides, a magician, Doug the Stilt Walker, a live DJ, cotton candy, prize draws and more.
A highlight of the evening includes the annual tree lighting ceremony. The town will light the 18 foot Christmas tree at Cobblestone Commons park at 6:30pm.
The evening also has a focus on collecting donations for local charity drives. This years Cram-a-Ram charity drive for Nova Vita will be collecting bedding and linens, winter outer wear, pajamas, slippers, toiletries, cosmetics, craft supplies, grocery store gift certificates and bus tickets.
The Salvation Army will also officially launch it’s Red Kettle Campaign during Jingle Bell Night. This year’s local goal for the campaign is to raise $110 thousand in addition to their mail-in campaign goal of $100 thousand through the holiday season.
