BRANTFORD – Brantford residents without COVID-19 symptoms can now get tested at a pharmacy in West Brant.

The decision to allow pharmacies to provide tests comes from the province in an attempt to stop overcrowding at testing centres. Residents looking for a test at the Shoppers Drug Mart at 320 Colborne Street West are required to have no symptoms and be screened over the phone in advance before booking an appointment.

Premier Doug Ford says changes are coming to long-term care visiting rules in areas with high community spread of COVID-19, although he did not specify which regions fall under that umbrella. As of October 5th, Ford says, visitors to long-term care homes in these areas will be restricted to staff, essential visitors, and essential caregivers only.
