BRANTFORD – The number of cases of COVID-19 in Brantford and Brant County remains unchanged at 103 including 3 deaths and 93 recoveries, leaving just 7 active cases in the community with 4 of those patients in the hospital.

The Haldimand Norfolk Health Unit is reporting one new case of COVID-19 Thursday, bringing the total number of cases to 207 including 31 deaths and 83 recoveries.

Ontario has reported another 413 new cases of COVID-19, which marks the continuation of a worrisome upward trend. It is an increase from the 390 new cases confirmed on Wednesday and represents the second-highest number of new cases reported in any 24-hour period in nearly two weeks.

A Health and Social Services employee working at the Gilbertson Administration Building in Simcoe, which has been closed to the public since March 17th, has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee is self-isolating at home, and health unit staff have asked close contacts to self-isolate at home pending their own test results.
