Park Amenities Open With a Reminder to Play Safe

BRANTFORD – Playgrounds within Brantford have reopened as of Friday evening, as the municipality enters Stage 3 of Ontario’s reopening framework amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

To ensure the health and safety of all park and playground users, City of Brantford officials ask users to adhere to requirements and guidelines remaining in place such as physical distancing of 2 metres (6 feet) apart from others outside their social circle.

Residents are also asked to delay their visit or consider using another amenity until children can use the playground equipment while physically distancing if the location is crowded.

Municipalities are not required to clean or disinfect playground equipment
regularly. Therefore city officials also remind those using the equipment to use proper hand washing hygiene, avoid touching their face, and refrain from sharing sports equipment or toys.

Wearing face coverings on outdoor playground equipment is not required under the City of Brantford’s Face Coverings By-law.
