Police Provide Details on Double-Homicide Arrests

BRANTFORD – Two additional individuals have been arrested in connection with a July 2019 double homicide in Brantford. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), in a joint investigation with Brantford Police, arrested the men early this week for the shooting death of 62-year-old Dorothy VanEvery, and 64-year-old Larry Reynolds at their Park Road South home last summer.

Brantford Police Cheif, Robert Davis, and OPP Detective and Superintendant, Tina Chalk, held a joint news conference at Brantford Police Headquarters Wednesday regarding the arrests.

Police would not say if they believe all the suspects involved in the murders of VanEvery and Reynolds have been arrested, as it remains an active and ongoing investigation.

Meantime, Brantford Police Chief, Robert Davis, says a cash reward is being offered in a separate murder that took place in Brantford last year.

Coby Carter was fatally shot on Colborne Street West, near Gilkison Street, around 3:25 AM on July 8, 2019. Detectives believe the homicide was a planned and deliberate act.
