BRANT COUNTY – Police and fire crews are searching an area of the Grand River after the watercraft launched by a 24-year-old man was found unoccupied Wednesday evening.
Nagim Mohamed from Hamilton launched at Chiefswood Park in Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation at approximately 7:15 PM and has not been seen since. His watercraft was located about 3 kilometers east of the park just before 8 PM.
OPP say they responded to the report of the missing man at 8:44 PM and began their search along with the Brant County Fire Department, Haldimand Fire Department, and OPP Aviation. Police have determined no life jacket had been worn.
A search of the water and shoreline along the Grand River continues Thursday.
The missing man is described as black, approximately 5’6, 120 lbs, brown eyes, and had short buzzed hair. He was last seen wearing a white shirt with black coloured shorts.
