High schools across Ontario were closed Wednesday as the union representing public secondary school teachers held a one-day strike.
The Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) confirmed early Wednesday morning the strike would go ahead after the province and union failed to broker a deal by the midnight deadline.
The OSSTF represents the high school teachers with the Grand Erie District School board, as well as the support staff with the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board at both elementary and secondary levels.
Public elementary, high school teachers began work-to-rule campaigns last Tuesday.
All classes resume Thursday, December 5th.
