High heat and humidity through Friday night.

A relatively hot and humid airmass has reached the area and will remain in place through Friday night. Maximum afternoon temperatures near 30 degrees and humidex values in the high thirties are forecast for this afternoon and Thursday afternoon, with slightly cooler daytime temperatures near the shores of the Great Lakes. Even hotter daytime maximum temperatures into the low thirties with Humidex values near 40 can be expected Friday afternoon over some areas. Overnight minimum temperatures tonight will fall below 20 degrees but will remain near or above 20 degrees Thursday night and Friday night.

A cold front early Saturday morning will bring cooler temperatures and lower humidity for the weekend.

Thursday we may see a slight cooling as there’s a 40% chance of a thunderstorm. And that rain possibly continuing into Friday and into the weekend.
