Brantford Police have made three arrests following the standoff on Grand Street last Friday.
Police say, two search warrants were executed at the residence. A total of eight people from the residence were detained during the investigation and three of those were arrested on outstanding warrants.
The day long investigation involved four Brantford Police units: Emergency Response Team; K-9; Task Force; and the Major Crime Unit. The OPP also assisted.
The standoff lasted approximately eight hours and ended without incident. As a precaution, however, the surrounding neighborhood was closed, as well as Graham Bell Victoria School and Grandview School.
The investigation began on Friday morning at approximately 7:00AM when police were led to the Grand Street residence in response to information about an individual with a suspected firearm. Police report that no firearm was located as a result of the search warrants.
