BRANTFORD – An employee at the Walmart location in Brantford has tested positive for COVID-19.
Brant County Health Unit’s Acting Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Elizabeth Urbantke, says they have determined the risk of exposure to the public is low.
Three Brantford area employees have tested positive for COVID-19recently. An employee from Lowes in Brantford, as well as an LCBO employee in Burford, had tested positive earlier this week.
There are now two active cases of COVID-19 in Brantford and Brant County.
The Brant County Health Unit recorded one new case of COVID-19 Friday, bringing the total number of positive test results to 125, including 119 recoveries and four deaths. To date, 14,109 residents have been tested.
There are currently sixteen active cases in Haldimand and Norfolk. The Haldimand Norfolk Health unit has recorded 444 positive cases. There have been 396 recoveries and 32 deaths.
Ontario is reporting 116 new cases of COVID-19 and another seven deaths.
Active cases also continue to decline and now number 1,599 provincewide.
Hospitalizations remain lower than they have been in months. On Thursday, there were 117 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, including 34 people in intensive care units.
